Standley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey, 'The Truman Show') lives in Edge City and works in a bank. He has a boring life and everyone teases him and, although he knows it, he is so pusillanimous that he allows it. His only friends are his dog, Milo, and Charlie. He believes that it is time for his friend to move and decides to take him to Cabaret Coco whose owner, Dorian Tyrell (Peter Greene), has a girlfriend (Cameron Díaz, 'Night and Day') who will try to decipher the safe of the bank where he works the protagonist.

After spending a horrible day, Standley will find a mysterious mask that will get his attention. It is the mask of Loki, god of mischief and evil. When you put it on, you will discover that it has powers and that its effects make your personality change completely. He will become a rogue, clever and witty, who will turn his whole world upside down.

It is an adaptation of a comic with the same name, directed by Chuck Russell. It had a great success and its main actors, Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz, managed to devote themselves in the world of interpretation, each one in its registry. Carrey was nominated for the Golden Globe for best actor and the film opted for the Oscar for best special effects, three BAFTA awards. It also earned him a nomination at the Sitges Festival.
